A repeatable record

01

Question

Start with something you can investigate or verify.

02

Evidence

Show the observations, data, or sources behind the finding.

03

Recreate

Leave clear steps so another student can try it too.

Four ways in

Science starts with noticing.

You do not need a laboratory or a brand-new discovery. You need a clear question, honest evidence, and enough detail for someone else to follow your thinking.

01

Mini Investigations

Ask a testable question, collect data, and explain what changed.

Try: “Which material keeps ice cold the longest?

02

Science Explained

Make an interesting idea understandable and show how to verify it.

Try: “What keeps us from seeing many stars in Greenwood?

03

Visual Sciences

Use a graph, drawing, or infographic to reveal a scientific pattern.

Try: “Map how the length of daylight changes across one month.

04

Opinions & Reflections

Build a thoughtful position from evidence and consider another view.

Try: “Is artificial intelligence good for science?

Community entries

The Journal

The first page is open

A finding can start small.

The first community entries are being reviewed. In the meantime, choose a question, keep careful notes, and make your method repeatable.

Questions worth testing

  1. 01Does the color of a surface change how quickly ice melts?
  2. 02How much does outdoor light reduce the number of stars we can see?
  3. 03Which kind of reusable bag lasts through the most trips?
  4. 04How does leaf color change from week to week in the fall?

Your turn to investigate

What science are you doing?

Share an investigation, explanation, visual, or evidence-based reflection. The Science NHS editorial team reviews every submission before it is published.
